One of the most important factors to consider when it comes to weir design is the thickness of your weir plate. To work correctly, the weir plate should be no thicker than a quarter of an inch and no thinner than an eighth of an inch.It’s also important that your weir crest have the correct dimensions. Unlike the thickness of your weir plate, which has an optimal size range, the proper dimensions of your weir crest will depend on the needs of your system, including the flow rate. You should have your operator clean your weir crest to make sure it works correctly. To limit the likelihood of debris affecting your weir crest, you should remove as much sediment as possible from the upstream channel.
