Dome Top Style

The height of a dome top manhole is determined by how high the customer wishes the manhole to extend out of the ground. The extension height plus the distance from the invert of the pipe to the finish grade is the ordering height

Pedestrian Loading Style

Aluminum hatch (pedestrian loading) manholes are flush with or slightly above the finish grade. The hatch can be provided: gas tight, water tight, and spring assisted. The ordering height is the distance from the invert of the pipe to the finish grade.

Options available with the pedestrian hatch top also include: pull-up ladder assists, insulation, custom engraving, and multiple types of locking mechanisms.

H-20 Highway Loading Style

The top of an H-20 manhole should be one foot below the finish grade. The distance allows for the installation of a cover and concrete ring or one layer of brick to adjust the cover to the roadway grade.
